Carnival Cruise Lines Syble Griffing
One of our friends is handicapped and uses a walker. Not one time during the whole cruise was he offered any help by any one of the staff. On other ships there is staff waiting to help with food trays, luggage, and anything else needed. I use a CPAP machine to sleep and always ask the steward for an extension cord which has always been brought to our cabin in minutes. It was almost bed time before I could even find our cabin steward to ask about it and was then told I would need to go to the Purser’s Desk, make a $25 deposit, and pick up the cord. I can understand the deposit because I’m sure there are people who would help themselves to these cords but, my past cruising experience has been that the steward would bend over backwards to get it for me, whatever it took. We had pre-ordered a canapé tray and champagne and were told it would be in our cabin waiting for us when we boarded. We were looking forward to a little Bon Voyage party with our friends. When we got to the cabin about 1:30pm, the tray was not there so I called and was told it was on the way. After three more calls, and returning from dinner, it was still not there. We went to the Welcome Aboard show and when we returned to our room there was the dried out tray – at bed time. Long story short, it was returned and finally on Thursday we received a call that we would get credit for it. The champagne was delivered the next afternoon - a little late for a Bon Voyage party! This was the first day and everything went downhill from here. The service on this ship was less than par
and the food was even more less than par. There are “Adult Only” hot tubs by the
Sky Pool but none of the staff seem to be willing to enforce it. There may be
one way I would go on Conquest again only because I love cruising so much and
that is if someone came to me with a free ticket. I would love to give some kind
of good report but, the only thing I can think of is that the beds, comforters,
and pillows are wonderful. I also like the size of the cabins and bathrooms. My
husband had to leave the ship in Grand Cayman for business reasons and that was
another fiasco - I won’t even go into because of space. Bottom line:
Carnival again, maybe. Conquest again, no. Ask a Question About Carnival Cruise Lines
