This was my first cruise with Carnival on the Legend. My companion had never
cruised before and I decided this would be a perfect introduction to a wonderful
holiday.
On arrival to the port approximately 1:00 pm - I found the line up extremely
long - I would suggest checking in later. My first impression of the ship was
that it was a little "garish" - mainly the atrium. We explored the ship and we
were very impressed with the layout - very clean and easy to get around. We had
an aft cabin with a balcony loved the location and enjoyed seeing the sunset
every evening. The staff was extremely polite - especially in the dining room-we
made sure to tip them extra. The food and service were more than I expected. We
shopped on board - bought each other our Christmas gifts. Duty free shopping on
board was fabulous - we bought a watch which was double the price back home.
We went to the wine tasting and ate at the fine dining restaurant that had the
$30. each surcharge. I would highly recommend the restaurant for a special
occasion.
The ports were wonderful - St Maarten, Barbados & Martinique. We enjoyed the
beaches in St Maarten & Barbados as well as an independent tour of the islands.
In Martinique we shopped and walked around -
In summary the cruise was more than we expected - very well organized - food was
plentiful - loved the deli and the delicious pizza station. We never felt rushed
or crowded.
The only complaint which was minor -was that the entertainment could have been
better - most nights we opted to go to Billy's Bar or Satchmo's - which always
had terrific entertainment. The mix of different age groups blended extremely
well and we truly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely travel with Carnival
again.
