Carnival Miracle Cruise Review

Julianne McSwain

Age: 26
Occupation: Massmutual
Number of Cruises: 3
Cruise Line: Carnival
Ship: Miracle
Sailing Date: July 25th, 2004
Itinerary: Bahamas

I had a lovely vacation until the very last night on board. We were a bit alarmed when at about 4 am the captain made an announcement for "all crew to abandon ship" We were only hours from docking back in New York City and all of us passengers thought that this was a terrorist attack for sure. The captain later explained that it was a prank- that some kids had somehow gotten into the dining room to make the announcement. Carnival apologized, but didn't take any of the blame. They explained in a letter to myself that "at no time was the security on board the vessel breached nor were unauthorized personnel granted access to the ship's navigational bridge." Well, I think that if teenagers could get into the dining area and use the Public Address system to scare the entire ship that Carnival has some major security issues and that they should take some responsibility here! I will never cruise Carnival again, because they know nothing about customer service. I thought that my family and myself were going to die that night, and all that Carnival sent me was an "I'm sorry but Carnival did everything right" letter...Carnival may be the most popular cruise line in the world, but it is certainly not the safest!
