Service was certainly not up to par compared to other cruises I've taken. The
itinerary was changed due to the weather, you would think the crew would give a
little extra given the circumstances, but in fact, there is not one instance in
which I remember anyone going out of their way.
Food was ok, not the top quality or presentation you would expect, loud dining
room, adequate serving staff, not outstanding in any way. Also, they expect you
to tip the maitre'd, and most people never even knew who this guy was. The food
in the buffet style restaurant up on top deck was not good at all. Same
breakfast every day, no variety, boring and not tasty or appetizing. The service
up there was terrible.
I have to say the entertainment was good. Very professionally done and actually
quite enjoyable.
Tipping policy completely caught people by surprise. They automatically add
gratuities on your sign and sail card, prior to even setting sail.
There were too many announcements, extremely annoying...all day long, trying to
sell you some thing or another. The cruise director was ALWAYS on the loud
speaker, let us relax, people were saying.
Embarkation and Disembarkation was fairly easy, however we were in the skipper
club, whatever that means...I think priority boarding due to the category we
booked.
As for the stateroom, Category 11 is great. If you cruise any one of these
Spirit class ships, shoot for a balcony or suite, it's worth the extra. And last
but not least, the ship itself if very nice, alot of amenities, beautifully
decorated and very easy to get around.
