Carnival Valor Cruise Review
Western Caribbean

My husband and I recently went on a Carnival Cruise Line Cruise. We went to the Western Caribbean on Carnival’s Valor. We have been on many cruises before on other lines so we had very high expectations. However, on this trip, many of them were not met. We begin with the room. We paid a pretty penny for it, and it was small and rather dirty. The bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. This is the first cruise that we had seen crew members just hanging around instead of doing their work. Also the noise level on the entire ship was so loud. It was not at all relaxing. It seemed like a party ship, with kids, teenagers, and irresponsible adults running around with no self control. Carnival prides itself on being the “fun ships”, and embraces its “party” image. However, for adults like my husband and I who were seeking a relaxing, family vacation, with our 2 kids, 8, and 13, we just weren’t impressed. The food, service, entertainment, and everything else, just seemed alright, not what we were used to on other ships, with everything being outstanding. Some mornings we woke up and found the breakfast food to be cold, and unappetizing. We only get so many vacations a year and my husband and I feel that this one was almost a complete waste of our time, money and energy. We don’t recommend this cruise line for travel, (though we are basing this statement on one trip with them), and won’t be cruising with them again. I hate to bring up the names of their competitors but in all honesty, of the 12 cruises that we’ve been on over the years, we have found Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruises to meet many more of expectations, and bring much better vacations.
