This was to be my second voyage on Carnival and my husband's first. We decided on the 4 day cruise because this was our first time leaving our daughter.
Our embarkation was very quick. We arrived at the port in NY at 1:00 and we were in our cabin at 1:20. The staff at the port was polite and answered all the questions we had.
Our cabin steward was great! He greeted us by name upon our arrival to our cabin. He kept our cabin extremely clean and always a full supply of towels, soda's etc. Every night he made a cute animal out of towels. One night when we came back from dinner, he had a monkey swinging from the lights! (I tried to take it home, but it fell apart!)
We dined in the Atlantic dining room. Our wait staff was excellent. Our waiter was very sweet and always asked how our day was. He was very professional, but liked to joke around too. The food was wonderful on board. The buffet's were a little smaller than some of the other larger cruise lines, but it's less you weight you put on!!!
We dined on the Lido deck in the mornings. Basic breakfast food, but there was always an ample supply. We had different things for lunch. One day a burger, next pizza...
Regarding the show's, we didn't see any! My husband and I love to gamble so therefore our evenings were in the casino. The casino was great. There were a lot of machines to choose from. If you're a slot player, you'll like the variety of slot machines. You can play the penny machines, 2 cents, 5 cents, quarters, dollars etc. One day my husband and I played for 10 hours straight! We forgot to eat! (Well, we did get to dinner).
The staff onboard the Victory was wonderful. Everyone was polite and courteous. They really did there best to make us feel like a part of the
family.
We were so impressed, be booked another cruise for August 26 '06.
If you looking for a really nice cruise for the value, book the Victory. They're not real flashy or right on top of you. They're just right!

Enjoy your sailin'
