My cruise experience was a bitter sweet experience all in all.

I stayed with my family of three in the best suite the carnival Ecstasy offered and there were no complaints regarding the room nor the outstanding service I received from the stewards that maintained our room. That was definitely the high point of our cruise.

Most bar/restaurants met our expectations and the service was impeccable. Most facilities offered a comfortable setting with a fun atmosphere. Drink prices average approximately 5.25/ea.,gratutity included.

The pool area/Lido deck was in major need of an overhaul. The pool looked like something you would see at a lower end motel chain and it was not very appealing nor inviting. The water slide was in service for approximately three hours of the cruise. The upper deck was adequate for sun bathing an offered a beautiful view of the ocean.

The fine dining was above average and the service was wonderful. The casual dining area was a little above par.
Port calls offered well planned excursions that most seemed to enjoy, but it is equally as easy and more affordable to venture out on your own. Port calls could be a little longer.

The approximate cost of our cruise was as follows:
Cruise Tickets Family of three: 3.1K
Cruise onboard bill (including gratuyity): $564.00
All other expenses: Whatever one would spend in port

Although we did enjoy most of our cruise experience, we all felt we could have had a much better bang for our buck had we chosen an updated/newer ship or had we chosen to stay at an all inclusive resort.

Had we purchased tickets at half the price we paid we would have been satisfied with our cruise experience.

I highly recommend researching the actual vessel before you purchase your tickets.
