Carnival's Elation Cruise Review

Chris Schuldt

Age: 36
Occupation: Business owner
Number of Cruises: 4
Cruise Line: Carnival
Ship: Elation
Sailing Date: May 8th, 2005
Itinerary: Western Caribbean

This was a very disappointing cruise for us. The ship suffered from really bad wear and tear. I was shocked when I looked at the date it was built on a plaque on the Lido Deck. The ship is only seven years old but shows like it is twenty.

The food was never very good. With the exception of the Pizza which was excellent, everything else seemed like run of the mill Mall cafeteria food at best. The "Tiffany" area has a different international flavor every night. The American food was average at best. I was getting really hungry looking at all of the restaurant commercials from back home, on the television in the cabin.

The Lido deck was closed on the last full evening of the cruise so I was unable to listen to my XM radio to catch the Richmond Nascar Race. No other provisions to watch Nascar races is provided. (Don't these people know that Nascar is the second most popular sport in the U.S.)

I generally found the Pursers and the management to be inept and didn't seem to have any answers.

Overall the worst experience I have ever had on a Cruise.

Security was lousy as 10 to 12 years old kids constantly ran the halls and ran the elevators all night without impunity.

Good Luck if you book this cruise
