This was my first cruise for both my mom and I. We decided to go with carnival
because a lot of people said that it’s a good one to take for your first time. I
was allowed to bring one friend so I brought m little cousin age 7 with me. I
took her because we were going to Nassau and her and I always wanted to see
Atlantis and see where the Olsen twins taped their movie.
We didn’t know what to expect! My mom made sure we had a ocean view room and
midway in the ship The room was a lot bigger then we thought. We did the dolphin
encounter in Freeport and discover Atlantis in Nassau. Both were worth doing.
The only thing I would tell people that sometimes they sell out of a excursion
so when you get on the ship go right to the excursion window. Nothing on our
ship sold out but just incase.
At dinner they don’t give you soda. You have to buy a soda card or put it on
your sail and sign card. My mom bought soda credits on the carnival web page so
we had them.( If your bring teenagers with you be ready to get a soda card) The
meals were ok, nothing to go home and brag about.
Freeport was nice. It was a lot cleaner then Nassau. The dolphin encounter was a
lot of fun. We got to swim with the dolphins and learn facts about them we never
knew. Atlantis was great. I would definitely recommend discover Atlantis. You
get to go all over the hotel and in the aquarium. We thought at the end you
would have to leave but we were allowed to stay on the island and do whatever we
wanted. We just couldn’t use the pools or slide. We spent all day at Atlantis.
Went to their beach for a couple of hours and shopped in the hotel. We just had
to be back my 5pm because that is when the ferry stopped taking people back to
port. I would just recommend you eat a little before going because the food you
have to use your hotel card and they wont take cash, only your hotel card. You
only get a hotel card if you stay at the hotel. It took us 2 hours until we
found a small food place that took money. Be ready to pay about $18 for fries
and hotdog and other $8 for a drink. (Welcome to Paradise)
The Broadway shows were great. We went to both of them while we were there.
Don’t forget the midnight buffet and deck party one night. The midnight buffet
is worth going to see. They have everything nice and pretty for you to take
pictures of.
The last night they will tell you that you can put your luggage outside of your
room or you can carry it off the ship. We didn’t know what to do so we carried
our luggage off the ship. BIG MISTAKE. You are assigned a deck you have to go to
and wait until your deck is called. They close all the elevators and only the
stairs you can use. Next time we will leave it outside our room the night
before.
If your flying home give yourself enough time because you have to be off the
ship by noon and we were the last group to get off and we didn’t get off the
ship till almost 12:30pm but we had flights @ 7pm that night. Just make sure
when your booking your flights give enough time.
Would we cruise with carnival again......yes. It’s the perfect family cruise
