Fran Evans
Age: 56
First we arrived in New Orleans during Mardi Gras.
We left port 2 hours late, was ok with us we did not mind as we went to
Riverwalk to look around, traffic had been tied up because of parade about 25
families were still stuck at airport or in traffic we waited for all to check
in, did not mind we went to river walk to look around and then came back on
board to eat late lunch, we got right on and checked right in, as we had a
Veranda room and belong to skippers club, no long wait in line about 10 minutes.
Our room was v-1 on port side nice an large there was room for 6 people in the
bathroom what a great feeling to move around compared in my daughters friends
room you barely had room for 2 in that one. they were on main deck inside,
weather was not so great windy and cold the first day out they changed the
itinerary we went to Cozumel first which was a disappointment as we wanted to
have the whole day in play del Carmen we wanted to visit Cancun to check out
inclusive hotels, so we were only in playa 5 hours, Cozumel we were docked from
7 am to 11:30 pm and we had visited Cozumel twice before on previous vacations.
so we were not to happy with the itinerary change. we opted to go to Dining room
every night this trip as we had a great table and the people we sat with were
terrific and we looked forward to dining at night we had a ball with them, we
usually only go to one or two dinners and stick with the Buffets. but this time
we had great dining partners. Our room was terrific we had twin beds and a
sleeper sofa and a large sitting area with 3 nice comfy chairs and a ottoman the
balcony was big enough for two lounge chairs and to lawn chairs we ask our
steward to bring up an extra one so my daughter and her friend could sunbath in
private but it was not to private as the stairs to the bow were right next to
the balcony so we had people looking in our room the whole time when the drapes
were open, had to remember not to go running around naked lol. There is a sewage
smell you do get on the higher decks I noticed it a time or two but it was
nothing to dwell on it came and went. The cabins are in need of a update in the
way of interior decorating it still in the 80's. Had a great time all the
Waiters and staff are always friendly on carnival and bend over backwards to
accommodate. kudos to carnivals entire staff. We had gone on the Celebration 2
years ago and met many of the officers and low and behold one of them was on the
Holiday, and we enjoyed seeing Peter again and talking to him and finding out
about where the rest of the crew was on other ships, and told him to relay our
hellos to them it was like seeing family again. we spent a lot of time in casino
they really need to update there, put in newer slots there were not many nickel
machines and not much to choose from but fun was had by us any way our friend
hit a 2700 hundred jackpot and I won a Slot tournament for 500.00 so our bills
were paid lol. the hot tubs were not in good working order I went one day and
they were luke warm. they were having trouble with the heating elements, I
guess, so I opted for the sauna inside the health club was relaxing enough. In
Cozumel we went to playa sol on our own paid the taxis for the trip there we
paid 38.00 per person and had the use of beach, pool all you could drink and eat
at 4 hour buffet drinks included alcohol also. they have shopping there also so
you don't even have to go to town and shop also hair braiding and 20.00
massages, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Parasailing wave runners although they
were not included in ticket we bought but they have different packages you could
purchase to include these things we just really wanted to sun bath and eat and
drink. Again carnival has come through for us I am already looking to book again
in June. Ask a Question About Carnival Cruise Lines
