Carnival Jubilee Cruise Review

Susan Boorstein

Age: 46 to 55
Number of Cruises: 3 to 5 Cruises
Ship: Jubilee
November  9th, 1998
Itinerary: Panama Canal

We were supposed to sail at 5pm. At 8pm, an announcement was made that we would be sailing at 9pm. No explanations, no apologies. We did sail after 9pm with luggage that was supposed to be on the Ecstasy and the Ecstasy sailed with luggage that was supposed to be on the Jubilee.

No welcome aboard music or drinks. Very bad first impression.

The worst was yet to come. At 2am, we awoke in a sweat. I called the purser’s office and they sent a fan. For the rest of the 11-day cruise, we were without air conditioning in our cabin. People also complained in the casino at night.

The Lido deck inside was always hot . The dishes and silverware were dirty. The ice machines didn't work. The ice cream machine never worked.. The capichino machine didn't work in the dining room. The ATM machine worked one day only midway through the cruise. The electricity went out on several occasions. People complained bitterly. Like before, there were never apologizes, nothing was done special to make up for anything. The worst part was being in the tropics without air-conditioning.

Stay away from the Jubilee.
