On the boat-
Embarkation and Debarkation were very easy. We used the self-assisted debark.
Food on board was alright, not outstanding or special. Drinks are expensive
(around $5.50 for a smallish margarita)and the "specials" are still $3.50. Beers
are about $4. It would be nice if they'd have happy hours. It's not like they
don't encourage drinking already.
The room (Riviera 89) was very comfortable and cabin service was outstanding.
They come in when you are out and clean, straighten up all your junk, make the
beds, restock the ice, etc. a few times each day. Room service food was prompt,
good, and included with your cruise.
The staff are generally very nice people. We didn't run into anyone on the
entire cruise who was rude or unhelpful.
On Cozumel-
We went on the Catamaran snorkel ($59 PP) The water, boat, and beach were very
nice. The crew at Fury was very good. Entertaining and friendly, they take
everyone's pictures which are for sale after the beach stop, no high-pressure
sales though. Bring your wallet on the Cat! I regretted not bringing mine,
theysell the pictures, hats, shirts, food on the beach,(not included)and I would
like to have tipped them. They serve Superior beer, which is a decent Mexican
beer,as well as margaritas, Teq. shots and Pepsi (unlimited and included) The
Catamaran snorkel is a pretty good deal and I'd recommend it.
Carlos n' Charlies/ Senor Frog's were both pretty fun but again, the drinks
weere more expensive than at bars in the states. We both got "yards".(26 oz) I
got beer and mine was $10. My wife got Margarita and it was $14! Whuh? Are you
sure we're in Mexico? I can see why Carlos, Charlie, and Senor Frog look so
happy on the signs.
As I said they're both fun places, but don't go expecting to get the prices you
get in the real Mexico, bring the Dollars!
