MS Grandeur Of The Seas
Dear Royal Caribbean:
My last cruise was on Carnival’s Destiny. It was my last and only cruisewith Carnival.
I must say at the onset I was very impressed with Royal Caribbean. I am aseasoned traveler with over twenty-five ship experiences. Five of thosehave been transatlantic crossings and the remainder from Alaska to West,East, and Southern Caribbean.
The first contact I had with your company was with Mr. Luis Gonzalez in your
reservations area. He is indeed a credit to your company and was mosthelpful in choosing the itinerary and ship. He is very personable, professional and took an avid interest in our needs. Kudos to Luis. (Ext.

Overall, I must say Grandeur of the Seas in one of the best laid out ships Ihave ever been on. It is wonderful to have a true promenade. The fact youcan go forward to stern without changing floor levels is a pleasure. Thelayout of the ship is well thought out and engineered. Our cabin (8524)
wasroomy, quiet and comfortable. All personnel we
encountered were mosthelpful and courteous. Some more
than others but overall they are a welltrained group
and give genuine effort to their profession.
I was most happy with Allliez (Cabin Stewardess), Curtis (Pool Bar)William (floor bar waiter – India), and Alexander in the South PacificLounge. Our table waitress and assistant were fine and no problems wereencountered.
I do have two complaints and they are as follows:
1. The music level across the board in every lounge and public areais extremely loud. Our first day on the ship, the pool band was so loud
youcouldn’t hear others near you even at the entrance
by the Centrum. Thepiano player in the Schooner
Lounge in the evenings made a perfectly lovelyand
romantic location into a shouting arena. I don’t think I need toelaborate on the disco decibel level.
2. I do not understand why you would make your most beautiful lounge,The Crown Viking, into a disco bar at night. We went almost every night
fora while, but without exception were driven away
but the extremely high noiselevel. I would venture to
say if you check your receipts from that lounge, you
will find them much lower than the others on an hourly open basis. Itwas empty most evenings.
Please do not take me wrong. I love music and am not a prude. I justthought you might like to hear comments that are derived from a consensus
ofmany passengers on this cruise.
We are planning another cruise next summer or fall and plan on eitherEastern Caribbean or Southern Caribbean. We certainly hope to be on RoyalCaribbean again.
