From arriving at the port to boarding the ship took 20 minutes of effortless processing. The ship was one of the older members of the fleet but well maintained and clean. Adverse weather conditions meant that we were unable to dock at 2 of the scheduled ports of call , La Rochelle and Lisbon .The captain however kept the passengers well informed of the changes being forced upon him at all times and his actions reflected the concern he showed to both passengers and crew alike in these unfavorable conditions.

On certain days the sea was so bad that to have opened certain amenities like the swimming pools or rock climbing wall would have certainly endangered those passengers foolhardy enough to use them. The food and service was excellent throughout the duration of the cruise both at informal or formal dining. The crew were also excellent and remained friendly and courteous at all times. There was a children's club which seemed very popular with those that attended .

For the older members like myself there was a nightclub open to the early hours and that was well attended too. I am sure there are other cruise lines that hope to match Royal Caribbean but I do not believe that there are many who can surpass them
