My Wife and I were supposed to go on our Honeymoon on the above date, but missed
the cruise because of a cancelled flight. We flew to St. Thomas to catch the
cruise at it's second port, when the Mariner was diverted to Haiti out of fear
for Hurricane Emily.
When we asked RCI what they would do for us, their reply was nothing because we
didn't book our trip through them. They stated that had we booked through them
we would have been taken care of. Luckily we had travel insurance. Now we are
trying to get our travel insurance to pay us our claim and they need a letter
from RCI to prove to them that the ship was diverted, now my travel agent has
informed that it will be 6 weeks.
I just want to say that I am very disgusted by RCI for treating us like second
class citizens because we did not book through them. I am almost wondering if
the letter is taking 6 weeks just to punish us for dealing with a travel agent.
I didn't make it on a Royal Caribbean boat, and now I probably never will. I am
sure it is a great ship, but RCI can go to the bottom of the ocean!
