Age: 29
Occupation: Professional Firefighter/EMT
Number of Cruises: 8
Sailing Date: October 16th, 2006
We sailed on the Sovereign of the Seas on the 4
night sailing. We were in Junior Suite 1540 and the room was awesome and the
balcony was huge. The room steward Derkson was the best we have ever had, He
took great care of us.
DAY 1: Embarkation
Arrived at Port Canaveral around noon and was on the ship 10 minutes later. Once
on board we went to the windjammer for lunch, nice selections and the food was
great. We checked out our table in the dining room. We were in the Mirage dining
room on deck 4 in table 442. At this time it was after 1 so we checked out out
stateroom. Muster drill was quick and painless and we were back on our balcony
for sail away. Enjoyed dinner in the dining room then spent the rest of the
evening exploring the ship with our group.
DAY 2: Coco Cay
Watched from the balcony as we sailed into Coco Cay. Tendering was painless and
we snorkeled for a little while, then had lunch at the BBQ, it was ok. We
shopped in the straw market, then went back to the ship. Did not do formal night
in the dining room, met our friends in Johnny rockets instead. Enjoyed dueling
Piano's, not to be missed. Went every night.
DAY 3: Nassau
Met our group for breakfast in the windjammer then went off the ship. Did a 4
hour tour offered by the taxi company. for $20 a person, we toured the downtown,
rich areas, poor areas and ended in Atlantis before getting dropped back off at
the ship. Ate lunch on the ship then went back to the island for some shopping
and drinks at senor frogs. Ate dinner in the windjammer then went to dueling
piano's.
DAY 4: AT SEA
Slept in till 1230, had lunch, did some shopping, then took another nap until it
was time for dinner. Went to the dining room then dueling piano's for the last
night.
DAY 5: DISEMBARKATION
Off the ship by 930 and home by 1030.
After all the bad reviews I have heard and read, I was scared to go on this
ship. I can now say I love this ship and will gladly sail on her again.
