I’ve been on the Voyager the past 2 years, and each time was terrific. I accompanied my Grandma, who is going on her 15th cruise with Royal Caribbean this year. We were greeted with smiles and warm welcomes as we boarded the ship and felt like royalty the moment we set foot on the Voyager. Our room was small but cozy and had everything we needed, which included a shower, hair dryer, couch, coffee table, TV, and beds. The size of the room should not be a big factor seeing that you won’t be spending much time in it, except when you sleep. When you get to your room you are greeted by the Television saying “Welcome (your name)!” which adds to the cozy feeling.

Once you board it will be a couple hours before your suitcases arrive at your room, so I suggest bringing anything you might need in a carry on. Once we boarded we headed to the Windjammer, which is a quaint little restaurant with an amazing view of the port in Miami. The food served was good, typical that you would expect from a buffet, but still good. After eating we walked the length of the ship, taking in the sights, which took a very considerable amount of time. The Royal Promenade, which is the mall located in the center of the ship, was a magnificent sight, with café’s, coffee shops, and eloquent music, not to mention unique art that you’ve probably never seen the likes of before. When we got to the stern of the ship we realized that a week would not be long enough to do everything that this ship has to offer. There is a mini golf course, rock climbing wall, basketball courts, and ping pong tables to keep any sport fanatic occupied.

Everyone on the Voyager has an assigned restaurant were they will always have a table waiting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s here that I tasted the best food I’ve ever had in my entire life. We were in La Bohemme, which was one of the three main restaurants on the ship. I enjoyed entrees of Lobster, shrimp cocktail, Lamb, escargots, and appetizers that were fit for the Gods. I also visited Johnny Rockets, which is a 50’s style diner located near the stern of the ship where I enjoyed American style Cheeseburgers and the best malted milkshakes I’ve ever had. I explored that ship for hours on end, and I still don’t think I saw every place that you could find something to eat every minute of the day. I was kind of disappointed that Coca-cola is not included in the ticket price, like all the other food and drink (besides alcohol) is. I did later find out that you can purchase a sticker that will allow you to get as many free sodas as you want.

Being active is what made my cruise great. There is an endless list of things to do on this ship. The shows that are performed in a gigantic auditorium with a beautiful stage were quite amazing. The sports games and tournaments were also fun. The parade in the Royal Promenade was very nice.

The service was exceptional, with people from all over the world greeting you and taking care of you as if you were their own. Every day after our room was cleaned one of our towels would be in the form of an animal, with mints for eyes. There is plenty of deck space available in case you want the sun, and the Solarium is always an option. You can win Spa dollars, which are as good as cash for the onboard Spa, Salon, and Suana. You can win these Spa Dollars by participating in sport tournaments.

The sites where also very beautiful. Haiti was very nice, with one of a kind scenery and crystal beaches for everyone’s enjoyment. Jamaica was also nice, especially the 1000 foot waterfall that we climbed (Dunn’s River Falls). Mexico was terrible for me, we spent an hour on a ferry to get to our dock where our tour was, once we got to the dock we got on a bus for another 45 minutes. Our tour was dull and hot, with the only place to eat being a little, questionable place with prices making us turn on our heals and run. Other than that our cruise was a part of my life that I’ll never forget. I would recommend it for anyone, families, couples, and honeymooners.
